INTRO 2

Class dates: April 18, May 2, May 16, May 30 (4 weeks total)

This class is a 4 week continuation of Intro. We will stay in two dimensions, working from a photo or mirror in charcoal, spending longer on each drawing than we did in Intro. I realized that in Intro once you get more of a handle on charcoal we don’t have time to go back and do another self-portrait, so there will be time for that in this class. You will also have an opportunity to bring in a photo of your choosing and spend longer drawing from that and getting my help if you like. I will demo longer and talk more about what I see in a photo and how I draw from it. If you have an idea of what you would like to work on that is welcome (ie one self portrait across all four weeks) that is welcome and I will support you with that, or if you don’t have an idea in mind I will provide drawing prompts each week. You will benefit from drawing surrounded by peers and getting to see how they experiment and what they find in charcoal.

This is meant to offer a little more experimental drawing time using 2D sources before taking a leap to 3D in intermediate.
